Description:

Nuflor is a light golden solution for injection containing:
florfenicol……… 300 mg/ml.

Activity:

Florfenicol is a bacteriostatic synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against most Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria isolated from domestic animals.

Nuflor Indications:

-In cattle, It is indicated in diseases caused by florfenicol susceptible bacteria.
-Also indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections due to Pasteurella haemolytica and Pasteurella multocida.

Nuflor dosage and administration:

In cattle, the recommended dose is 20 mg/kg bodyweight (10 ml for 150 kg) given by intramuscular injection preferably into the neck musculature using a 16 gauge needle.

-The dose should be repeated after 48 hours.

-Intramuscular administration at the recommended dose maintains effective blood levels in cattle for 48 hours.

Pharmaceutical precautions:

-Store it below 30° C.
-Do not refrigerate.
-Protect from frost Swab septum before use.
-Use a dry sterile needle and syringe following withdrawal of the first dose.
-Use within 28 days.
-Discard unused material.

Further Information:

-Florfenicol acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis at the ribosomal level.

-Laboratory tests have shown that florfenicol is active against the most commonly isolated bacterial pathogens involved in bovine respiratory disease which include Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus and Corynebacterium pyogenes.
