Furosix Composition:
furosix contains:
Active ingredient
Furosemide………………………………..50 mg/ml.
Other ingredient:
Ethanol, Sodium Hydroxide, Propylene
Glycol, Polyethylene Glycol 400
Hydrochloric acid, Water for injection.
Furosix Indication:
-furosix is a potent saluretic type of diuretic for parenteral administration to Cattle, Horses, Cats and Dogs.
-the drug is indicated in the treatment of oedema associated with cardiac insufficiency, renal dysfunction, trauma and parasitic disease.
-Also recommended for the treatment of mammary oedema and limb oedemata.
-It gives rapid onset of diuretic action with increased sodium and water excretion. It is even effective where glomerular filtration is impaired.
Target animals:
Cattle, Horses, Dogs and Cats.
Dosage and Administration:
Horses: 0.5 – 1 ml/50 kg bodyweight by intravenous injection, 1 – 2 times a day at 6 – 8 hours interval.
Cattle: 0.5 – 1 ml/50 kg bodyweight by intravenous injection at 12 – 14 hours interval.
Dogs and Cats: 0.25 – 0.5 ml/5 kg bodyweight by intravenous or intramuscular injection, 1 – 2 times a day at 6 – 8 hours interval.
In severe or refractory cases, the dose may be doubled on a single occasion in the Horse or Cow.
Withdrawal Periods:
Meat: 2 days.
Milk: 2 days.
Storage:
– Protect furosix from light, store in a dry place.
– Below 25°C.
