Gestar ovulation hormone is a veterinary ovulation stimulant used in cases of polycystic ovary syndrome and delayed estrus in cows and mares.
Composition
Every 100 ml gestar ovulation hormone contains:
Buserelin acetate (equivalent to 0.0004 g of Buserelin)..0.00042g.
Sodium chloride………0.45g.
Sodium phosphate……..0.25g.
Formulation agents….e. q.
Indications of ovulation hormone
Gestar is used in cows & mares.
Cows:
-Fertility disorders of ovarian origin: follicular cysts,absence of estrous,anestrus, delayed ovulation,follicular atresia.
-To increase the conception rate in artificial insemination.
-After oestrus synchronization.
Mares:
-Cystic disorders in ovaries, with or without permanent or prolonged estrus.
-Absence of estrous.
-To induce ovulation: for a better setting of ovulation and breeding period, to improve conception rate and in prolonged or permanent estrus.
Administration & dosage
The route of administration is intramuscular.
gestar may also be administered by intravenous or subcutaneous route,
COWS:
5 ml for Follicular cysts, absence of estrous & Anestrus.
2.5 ml for Delayed ovulation follicular atresia.
2.5 ml for Increased conception rate in artificial insemination and after oestrus synchronization.
MARES:
10 ml for Cystic ovarian disorders, with or without prolonged or permanent estrus.
2 doses of 5 ml at 24-hour intervals for Absence of estrous.
10 ml for Inducing ovulation.
10 ml for Setting of ovulation and breeding period.
10 ml for Improving the conception rate.
10 ml for Prolonged or permanent estrus.
Target animals

Directions for Use of ovulation hormone
COWS:
Ovarian and Follicular cysts:
-Repeat treatment if the corpus luteum is not detected or new cysts appear within fifteen days.
-Artificial insemination or breeding can occur right in the first estrus after treatment, generally after 20 days.
-To increase the conception rate, it is recommended to administer 2.5 ml of gestar ovulation hormone .
Absence of estrous, anestrus:
-Repeat treatment if ovarian activity (estrus) is not observed after 10-12 days.
-Synchronization of ovulation – to increase conception – after estrus induced by prostaglandins (PROSTAL):
It is recommended to administer 2.5 ml of gestar simultaneously at breeding or artificial insemination.
Delayed ovulation, Follicular atresia:
-Delayed ovulation and follicular atresia can be treated during or up to 6 hours before artificial insemination or breeding. -Generally, ovulation takes place within 24 hours after treatment.
MARES:
Ovarian cystic:
-In general, a single treatment is enough.
-If cysts do not disappear, repeat treatment after 10 or 14 days.
Absence of estrous:
-Repeat treatment if ovarian activity (estrus) is not observed after 10-12 days.
– If the corpus luteum observed, administer PROSTAL as a luteolytic agent.
Inducing ovulation:
-It is recommended to administer gestar ovulation hormone when a follicle of at least 40 mm diameter is observed after a gynecologic examination.
-Repeat treatment if ovulation does not take place within 24 to 36 hours.

Store gestar at temperatures below 25°C into the original carton and away from direct sunlight.
