Phenylarthrite is an anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic drug of phenylbutazone for dogs & horses.

Compositions:
phenylarthrite is composed of:
Phenylbutazone … 20 g.
Benzyl alcohol …… 1 ml.
Disodium edetate.
Excipient to 100 ml.
Phenylarthrite Properties:
Phenylbutazone is a powerful non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, with antirheumatic, analgesic and antipyretic effects. It intervenes in the early stages of inflammatory reaction, acting on vascular permeability and the resulting oedema and diapedesis.
Phenylarthrite injectable solution will be used in the following affections:
-arthritis.
-tendinitis.
-articular and muscular rheumatisms.
-congestive processes.
-hyperthermia and heat stroke.
-inflammatory complications of trauma and infection.
Phenylarthrite Indications:
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory.
Dosage and mode of administration:
By intravenous injection as follow:
Horses:
2.5-5 ml (0.5 – 19) per 250 kg body weight daily,
Total daily dose should not exceed 20 ml, regardless of weight.
Do not treat intravenously for more than 5 consecutive days.
Dogs:
-Prescription only medicine.
-Do not overdose.
-0.5 ml (100 mg) per 5 kg body weight daily. Total daily dosage for animal treatment should not exceed 4 ml regardless of the weight.
-Do not treat intravenously for more than 2 consecutive days.
Precautions and Warnings in Target Animals:
-avoid withdrawing blood and mixing syringe.
-Intramuscular injection should be carried out deep in the muscle mass.
-Use aseptic techniques with all injections.
-Animals suffering from vascular fragility or coagulation defects should receive a lower dose-rate of Phenylarthrite and the injections should not be repeated.
-The therapeutic index of phenylbutazone is low. Don’t exceed the stated dose of Phenylarthrite or the duration of treatment.
-Do not administer other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs concurrently or within 24 hours of each other.
-Do not use in animals suffering from cardiac, hepatic or renal disease; where there is the possibility of gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding where there is evidence of blood dyscrasia or of hypersensitivity to the product.
-Use in animals under six weeks of age or in aged animals may involve additional risks.
-If such use can’t be avoided, animals may require a reduced dosage and special clinical management.
Veterinary Pharmaceuticals:
-Phenylbutazone has been shown to cross the placenta.
-Avoid its use during pregnancy whenever possible, particularly during the first trimester.
-Concurrent administration of potentially nephrotoxic drugs( e.g. aminoglycoside antibiotics ) should be avoided.
Special storage conditions:
-Shelf life after initial opening of the immediate packaging: 28 days.
-Keep out of the reach and sight of children, Do not store above 25°C.
