Composition
Each 1 ml GENTODAD 10% contains:
Gentamicin( as Sulphate)
Pharmaceutical Properties
GENTODAD 10% contains Gentamicin which is a broad-spectrum bactericidal aminoglycoside antibiotic, it is active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria such as E.coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas aeruginous, Pasteurella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Bordetella and Corynebacterium.
Indications:
indicated for the treatment of infectious disease caused by gram positive and gram negative bacteria sensitive to gentamicin.
In dogs and cats:
* Skin and soft tissues infection.
*Urinary tract infections.(cystitis, nephritis). *Uterine infection (endometritis and metritis). *Respiratory tract infections including pnemoneia and tracheobronchitis.
* Gastrointestinal tract infections (Colibacillosisi Salmonellosis). Septecemia.
*Arthritis.
* Otitis and tonsillitis.
Horses:
treatment of uterine infection (metritis), respiratory tract and soft tissues infections and wounds.
Target Species:
Horses, Foals, Dogs & Cats.
Administration and Dosage:
Administer by I.M, S.C, or slow I.V injection or intrauterine infusion.
Foals: 2-3 mg/kg.b.w.(1 ml / 50 kg b.w. twice daily)
Horses: 6.6 mg/kg.b.w. (6.6 ml/100 kg b.w.) once daily.
Dogs:
IM/S.C: 4mg of gentamicin / kg B.W for 3-5 days. Intrauterine: 4 mg/kg B.W diluted in 10 ml sterile solution.
Cats:
IM/S.C: 4mg of gentamicin/kg B.W for 3 -5 days.
For treatment of metritis:
Mares:
20-25 ml diluted in 200-500 ml of sterile saline for 3-5 days.
Precaution:
* Care should be taken in cases of renal disturbances.
* Overdose may result in neuromuscular block.
* contraindicated in the case of anesthetized animals.
* Not to be used in pregnant animals.
*Not to be used in food-producing animals.
