Check the details below for more information about the use of cydectin for cattle..
Composition:
CYDECTIN Pour-On Contains:
moxidectin 5 g per litre
butylated hydroxyanisole 0.1 g per litre
tert butyl hydroquinone 0.03 g per litre as antioxidants
CYDECTIN POUR-ON contains moxidectin, a second generation macrocyclic lactone endectocide of the milbemycin family.
Indications:
CYDECTIN POUR-ON For the treatment and control of gastro-intestinal roundworms, lungworm, warbles, horn flies, mange mites and sucking and biting lice of cattle.

-Pour onto skin at the rate of 1 ml per 10 kg bodyweight.
-Pour along the midline of the back of the animal from the wither to the tailhead.
-Apply to clean, healthy areas of skin.
-All cattle in the same group should be treated.
-Over 600 kg live weight give 1 ml per 10 kg.
Dosing guidelines:
as Spring/summer dosing:
CYDECTIN POUR-ON gives optimal pasture protection against stomach worm and lungworm with an 8-10 week dosing interval depending on the level of pasture challenge. i.e. the length of persistent activity plus the interval from any re-infection to the presence of eggs/larvae in the dung.
Ask your veterinary surgeon or animal health adviser for the appropriate timing of treatment in your area.
Late grazing/housing dose:
Treat at or within 5 weeks before housing to control internal and external parasites.
The persistent activity against stomach worm and lungworm means that within 5 weeks of treatment:
1- cattle can be housed with no further dose needed at housing.
2- housed cattle can be repeatedly turned back out to grass and stay protected.
The prolonged effect in preventing re-infection of Ostertagia sp. for 5 weeks and of Dictyocaulus sp. for 6 weeks provides the basis for the use of CYDECTIN POUR-ON in strategic parasite control programmes.
